I don’t know about you guys but I don’t have just one shampoo that I stick to when it runs out, I haven’t found one that I constantly repurchase only because I haven’t found one that makes my hair feel super soft and leaves it feeling healthy.
I recently decided to make a switch in my Shampoo and conditioner as I’ve just ran out of my Head and Shoulders with argon oil, I really wanted to try sulphate and paraben free shampoos as I’ve heard they are so much better for your hair.
I was browsing in the Hair section in Boots and found this Mark Hill XL Volume Amplifying Shampoo and Conditioner, it’s the packaging that caught my eye, its a shiny pink/purple tube and you get 250ml in each product, the shampoo and conditioner both retail at £6.99 normally but at the moment they are both £4.66 which I think is a reasonable price.
I cant really put my finger on the scent of this product but it isn’t unpleasant and it isn’t too strong either, its more of a subtle smell.
Sulphate free shampoo is good for people who have fine or dry hair as shampoos with sulphate can strip the natural oils out of your hair leaving it dry.
Sulphate free shampoo is also good if you have colour treated hair as it doesn’t strip the colour. They also help to lock in moisture which if you do have dry hair is probably what you would want.
Shampoo with sulphate has been linked to hair loss and thinning of the hair and whilst I have thin hair as it is, I would love to keep the hair I have so if I can make any changes that could benefit me, I’m all here for it.
I’m not saying that if you use shampoos with sulphate then this is going to happen, I personally just wanted to switch it up and see if there was any difference to the way my hair feels and because sulphate and paraben free shampoos keep your hair moisturised and makes it less prone to breakage and split ends, I really wanted to try it.
Another great thing about this shampoo and conditioner is that it contains marine collagen. Now I did have to look this up because I literally had no idea what is was so let me tell you a little about the benefits.
Marine collagen contains nutrients, including minerals, vitamins and amino acids. Its also rich in calcium which is great for nails and hair and teeth, iron, potassium, magnesium and zinc which the thyroid glands needs for producing hair, it also has a high content of vitamin B and it does say that recent studies have proven that because of these extracts it helps to promote hair growth – I don’t know how far that is from the truth but I’m happy to find out if it works.
My overall opinion is I do really like this product, I love how soft my hair is after I’ve used it and it does look healthy and not dull. I feel like there might be a little extra oomph in my hair but nothing crazy.
I probably would repurchase again but I would like to try more sulphate and paraben free shampoos.
If you guy would recommend a good shampoo that’s sulphate and paraben free then let me know below – or if you’ve tried it and didn’t like it then let me know why =)
Thanks so much for reading guys and I’ll speak to you all very soon ♥
