I wont lie, I don’t always use primer before I apply my makeup, its a step I normally forget. The only other primers I’ve used before are Baby Skin by Maybelline and Porefessional by Benefit. Today I want to share with you a primer that I have been introduced to by one of my friends who kindly gave it to me to try out and I just wanted to share my thoughts.
I tried to find this on the Boots website but was unsuccessful, however I did manage to find it on the Lancôme website which I’ll link here. Its the LA Base Pro Perfecting Make-Up Primer.
First of all, I love the packaging, its frosted glass makes it look super classy especially with the black writing and of course you have the Lancôme rose on the top of the lid. I really like that it has a pump aswell so you can really control how much you use. On the Lancôme website it retails for £28.50 and you get 25ml of product.
It is a translucent formula and the texture is ultra-soft, it literally feels like a dream when you apply this to your face and its aim is to boost makeup staying power. With its Elasto-smooth technology, this helps to make your skin feel and look visibly smoother. This primer is also light reflecting which helps to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, fine lines and make that look of tiredness fade away. Another amazing thing about this primer is that its oil free, that helps to control shine and makes the product apply seamlessly on your skin.
I do find that with using a primer it does make my makeup look better on my skin which I’m appreciative of, however I don’t feel that it makes my makeup stay on any better – I found that with the previous primers aswell, I think that might be why I stopped using them because I didn’t feel that they were doing anything special apart from making my application of makeup a little better.
Overall, I do think this is a good product, the way it looks under makeup and how it feels when I applied it was really nice, I just don’t think I would purchase it at the price of £28.50.
If any of you have tried this product then let me know your thoughts, if not, let me know what your favourite primer is =)
Thanks so much for reading and I’ll speak to you all very soon ♥
