We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Its the fuel your body needs to give you the energy to start your day off the right way.
I thought I would share with you a few breakfast’s I eat during the week that I find fill me up until my mid morning snack.
01. Quaker Oats – Apple & Blueberry.
I never used to like porridge at all, the only one I could handle was the chocolate Ready Brek and that was at a push. For the past month and a half I have been obsessed with the Quaker Oats flavoured porridge. My favourites are the apple & blueberry aswell as the strawberry, raspberry & cranberry. In each box you get 10 sachets which has the perfect amount in for me, they also have a dotted line across the packet which shows you how much milk to pour in which is exactly the way I like it.
I don’t like to have mine runny or too thick and I find that the guideline on the pack helps make the perfect bowl of porridge to kick start my day. It fills me up and keeps me nice and toastie in this cold weather we have been having.
02. Yeo Valley Natural Yoghurt with fresh Blueberries.
This is a recent favourite of mine. My fiancé brought some blueberries and natural yoghurt as he also wants to start eating better, I tried some and well now I’m addicted. I also like to have the flavoured yoghurts aswell such as the Mango & Vanilla, Blueberry and the Strawberry. I put three tablespoons of yoghurt into a bowl and a handful of blueberries and that’s it. Nice and simple but so delicious! You can add any fruits you like to suit you.
Blueberries are a great superfood, they contain so many things that your body needs such as iron, calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin K and more.
They can help with your digestive system due to their fibre content and they also help you to feel fuller for longer.
03. Poached egg on wholemeal toast.
I tend to have one slice of wholemeal toast and one egg and this seems to fill me up just enough. This gives you plenty of protein, minerals and vitamins. They are a great source of vitamin A and Zinc which are two important nutrients to have a good immune system. This has definitely got to be one of my favourite brekkies to have.
04. Protein Powder with Frozen Fruit Smoothie.
This is a breakfast I have when I don’t really feel like eating food. This would be a great alternative if your not really a breakfast person. I normally put a scoop of protein powder in, a bit of milk and some frozen fruit, blend and wahlah! I really like to have the Golden Standard Chocolate Protein Powder with strawberries…oh my god! It tastes insane! I also really like the vanilla flavour in the same brand and you can pretty much add anything to it. These are very filling aswell and you can switch up what you put in them so it doesn’t get boring.
Are you a breakfast person? What is your favourite breakfast?
